Welcoming Winter
Posted on 10. Dec, 2009 by Kate in Farm & Family

This was sunrise yesterday.

Snow is good for playing,

but chores still have to be done.

Chickens have to be fed and watered. There are eggs to collect and …

firewood to bring in. Somehow, halfway to the house with a load of firewood, building a snowman seemed like a better idea to this cowboy.

However, this little cowboy was done, done, done I tell you. Darn those mittens–it’s hard to hold a palm sized tractor in fluffy, warm mittens! And it was COLD.

Good thing we could all come in and warm up in front of this. Hope you are enjoying the snow!

The closeup of the fire in the fireplace is kind of scary.

@Robert, Now that’s cold! I don’t know what it’s gotten down to here. We have a bathroom sink that freezes at -10 and it’s been frozen for the last two mornings. so it’s been at least that cold here. The neighboring town reported -25 and we’re usually 5 degrees warmer.
