Kodachrome Basin and a Giveaway
Posted on 25. Oct, 2011 by Kate.

2) Go somewhere we could hike.
3) Go somewhere we’d never been (or even heard of).
Kodachrome Basin State Park fit the bill. Plus it had rocks for the kids to climb.
Even the baby had fun. BTW–I love whoever invented the Bumbo.
It was so nice to get [...]

House of Diamonds by Karen Jones Gowen
Posted on 23. Sep, 2011 by Kate.
Beginning about three years ago, I began consuming escapist books. I like to swallow them whole–or maybe in two or three bites–so I typically choose action-packed, suspenseful plot lines preferably with a good (and clean!) romance. I’d choose a gripping book over a movie any day.
The first friend I ever made in blogland asked [...]

Writing Update
Posted on 30. Aug, 2011 by Kate.
No, we haven’t started decorating for Christmas–yet. I thought I’d give a little writing update. Each year Covenant Communications (my publisher) publishes a collection of short, true stories from their authors. This summer they asked me to write a story for that book! Yes another exclamation point. That happens a lot when I write about being [...]

Stewed Rhubarb Over Yogurt
Posted on 19. Aug, 2011 by Kate.
A friend gave me some more rhubarb (thanks Kate!) so I thought I’d try out a new recipe. This is so simple and quick to throw together. I made it while our pizza cooked–yeah, it’s fast. The sweet tartness is really yummy on a hot summer evening. So you’ll need about 7 stalks of rhubarb [...]

Preschool?
Posted on 09. Aug, 2011 by Kate.
So you may be wondering what happened to my Weekly Preschool Posts.
1. The four-year-old is so happy to have older siblings home he doesn’t want to stop playing to do preschool. Really, who am I to interrupt sibling bonding like that?
2. July had two holidays and two family reunions. One reunion Nate and I were [...]

We haven’t decided on a name yet. Any suggestions?
